Description of the project

The project aims at reorienting the Ocean Ambassador program towards outreach activities serving Ocean Protocol Foundation and OceanDAO growth objectives.

Grant Deliverables:

Details of the proposal:

The goal of the Ocean Ambassador program is to raise awareness of Ocean Protocol in as many ways as possible - whether it is via social media channels, by launching real world events, networking in online and offline communities or involvement in other relevant communities. Another pillar of the project is to onboard new, highly motivated and brilliant people into the ecosystem - a lot of the projects in the OceanDAO have started with or are supported by Ocean Ambassadors and we are proud to have a positive influence in the community. This is an ongoing, long term commitment that we are financing via this proposal.

Yes. Ocean Ambassadors have been contributing significantly to the visibility and technical developments of Ocean Protocol. There also have been various spin offs in the ecosystem out of the Ambassador program e.g. Ocean Academy, Ocean Pearl, deltaDAO, DataUnion.

What is the team’s future plans and intentions? Is there maintenance? Possible extensions to the work?

Absolutely, this is a long term commitment with the intent to support the ecosystem through all phases of the path towards decentralization.

This was a pretty impressive statement:

We fully support this proposal because when we were just getting started with Ocean, we reached out to a few telegram ambassadors and always found them very helpful. @Robin, @kaimeinke, & Frederic Schwill are some of the people that we talked to in the past when we were debating on joining the Ocean Community and they were all very helpful.

Even though he is not an official ambassador and I don’t think is part of this proposal, when we think about key people that we talked to and had a positive influence we have to mention @TimDaub. He has done a lot of great work (RPI) and has done a lot for the community. He has a lot of great insights and is very informed in this space. He also makes sure that you go “check yo self” before you submit a proposal.

All of these positive interactions with the community and its ambassadors is the main reason that mPowered only does open-source proposals. We wanted to give something back to the community and do our bit to say thanks for helping us discover the boundless potential of Ocean Protocol.

Greetings everyone & @Robin,

Welcome back to the Ocean DAO voting rounds after a long time as one of the key pillars as the Ocean Ambassador program. Thank you so much for returning with an active proposal with quality deliverables to follow through.

Given my own involvement as an active members of the Ambassador program, I’d still proceed to offer some insights as part of the PG-WG.

  • Usage of Ocean & Viability of the project:

As a leading project that aims to bring more ambassadors to the Ocean protocol ecosystem as part of a very extensive outreach initiative, it certainly shows that your project aims to add higher level of traction value towards Ocean in the coming months & thanks again for that. You also have the track record to complete projects successfully with series of successful deliverables and being active in the Ocean DAO ecosystem and also interacting with other projects.

  • Community activeness & Contribution to the ecosystem:

As a recurring project and an active member in the community, you have shown sufficient activeness as part of the Ocean DAO ecosystem. We also notice that you have provided valuable feedback to other projects in the ecosystem as well.

On behalf of PG-WG, we wish you the best for the upcoming DAO voting round and looking forward to hear feedback on our Discord channel.

PS: We would also like a few Ambassadors who can have some flexible bandwidth to support us at the PG-WG <-> Ambassador WG, as I see a few synergy that can help both of us. We could also a few scoped out activity farming from our end as time proceeds. Currently we have been focusing on bringing more visibility to the PG-WG as well as active review of all proposals such as this one.
