Proposal Description
Ocean Starfish | Open Source Branding intends to revamp branding and design for projects building out from OceanDAO, giving the projects a market-ready visual & product design positioning helping them navigate away from the current generic design systems in place.
Design plays an incredibly important role in the uptake and adoption of web3. As most users will be onboarded into the world of blockchain through dApps, how they journey through this technical space can be heavily hindered or supported by design.
We would be picking up key Ocean Ecosystem projects, one at a time, and build the following for each of the Ocean Ecosystem Projects we work on.
- Branding Manual with Style Guides
- Redesigning UI screens for the product in-line with the brand value and vision.
- Working on setting up a website where revamped Ocean Ecosystem projects are showcased.
- Make all files open-source, available for download via simple wallet login.

Project Description
Ocean Starfish is a new initiative we intend to start to assist the community in building design experiences for Ocean Ecosystem Projects. We aim to collaborate with key projects from the DAO and assist them with correct brand positioning, based on their respective market and end-user, to help them with correct value proposition design keeping in mind the roadmaps each project has in terms of their scaling goals.
Ocean Starfish intends to aid the community with rebranding (or in some cases, branding from scratch) and building refined functional prototypes with logical userflows and future-proof design. We believe in making UI where we’re confident that the final product can be developed, shipped and maintained sustainably.
Ocean Starfish would work constantly with other ecosystem projects to lower the barrier for entry a user generally faces on their project.
With 20 months of OceanDAO soon approaching, we believe it’s a good time to see Ocean Ecosystem ship the current existing mature products with ready-for-market design experiences for the end-user.
Value Add Criteria
