Proposal Description
Going forward The Phoenix Guild(TPG) and Build on Ocean projects will be merged into the Indian Ocean Program as part of our Learning and Development(L&D) Initiative. Coming off a highly successful Indian Ocean campaign since Round10 of Ocean DAO, we intend to continue the outreach initiative and engage with the active Indian community of builders and community leaders that we have engaged through our first epoch of activities since R-10.
Proposal Description:
Having started out outreach activities back in October, we started off with an ambitious set of goals to kick-start the Official Outreach within the Indian community with an intend to onboard more beginners into the AI*Web3 space, along with the Active Crypto-Indian Community. We were able to successfully pull off strategies that are atypical of an outreach program and our results display the same. We managed to steer through pivoting in view of COVID restrictions in place for physical events and we intend to continue our outreach efforts with a meaningful funneling towards the Ocean DAO ecosystem.
What’s new in R17 ?
TPG Merger
The Phoenix Guild are group of women who want to help other women in tech and non-tech roles empower and educate themselves in order to utilize the opportunities in WEB3! The Phoenix Guild has planned to organize a solidity boot camp for women who are interested in learning the language and also motivating them by incentivizing their learning process. Our aim is to have at least 20 women from this cohort who are able to attempt projects, bounties and work on hackathons independently. Our long term goal is to be able to help these women apply for grants and lead their projects.
A Solidity Bootcamp for women in Web3 Starting from the 18th April - 30th May and 2 weeks Prep + Support for Jobs/Grants
Cohort-size : Minimum: 20 , Maximum: 100
Cohort-type: Virtual and Asynchronous
- Except for 1-2 sessions, all the other study material will be given to you in your inbox/Discord and you can work with those in an asynchronous manner. You would be responsible for your own time and work submissions.
- There would be office hours by mentors and masterclasses, which are recommended but not compulsory to attend.
- The Bootcamp, specifically designed to cater to women, allows them to study during their own time and convenience.
We opened the registration for the boot camp on the 18th of March and with an overwhelming response of 89 registrations have closed it 8 days prior to the closing date. We have also onboarded 9 Solidity mentors and have finalized on 5+ Masterclasses.

She is an ambassador at various layer-1 chains like Aeternity, Algorand, NEAR Protocol as well as Covalent. She is passionate about education and technology.

Lack of visibility/exposure for the proposals submitted for OceanDAO grants. Due to which many voters end up not having enough information at the right time about the participants, leading to a sub-optimal voting activity.

As outlined in our last proposal in Round16, we intend to continue the good work in bringing more value add to the Ocean outreach in terms of
- To push to have more digital presence in all the major social media networks and starting podcasts with ocean devs under the IO Media Program.
- Active Participation of TPG members in grants and DAO proposals
- DAO Outreach with collaborations and sponsored events.
- Ecosystem funds to improve developer outreach
- Project Guiding
- Service DAO to help community get more opportunities & achieving the missions
- Bringing support to the working groups and other stakeholders in the Indian ecosystem
Despite having a net overhead loss of 1200$, we had proceeded to make several strides in the past few months. We believed in holding our reserves in $Ocean for the longest time to have our voting presence and participation in Ocean DAO voting rounds even though it had impacted financially. We have summarized our usage of Ocean in the below document
