ExamGuide - Electronic Library, CBT Tutorial and Practice on OCEAN

Name of Project

ExamGuide - Electronic Library, CBT Tutorial and Practice on OCEAN

Proposal in one sentence

A web, desktop, and mobile-based CBT examination preparatory and testing platform, E-Library, with a vision to help candidates excel in all major examinations in West Africa.

Description of the project and what problem is it solving:

We are creating a computer-based examination preparatory and testing platform to help solve the problems stated below:

  1. With the increasing shift of examinations in West Africa moving to computer-based tests, some students/candidates tend to fail because the lectures are largely taught traditionally and students are unable to practice or prepare for the examinations in the method they will write for the examinations.

  2. Though there are a lot of offline tutorial sections to prepare the candidate, this process is redundant as the instructors tend to continually repeat the same lectures, also the students are unable to assess these lectures after being taught except the note they took at the time the lecture was presented.

Grant Deliverables: (Provide us with a check-boxed list of deliverables for the funding provided.)

  • Technical design of the project with complete user flows, wireframes.
  • Project landing pages to include key CTA, Project description, and other important guest pages.
  • Whitelist activation campaigns and Social Media / Community activation efforts.

New Project.

What is the final product?:

Our final product is a web, desktop, and mobile-based CBT examination product where instructors can upload short past examination video tutorials, which students can access at a cost by watching online or downloading offline for later consumption, while the instructor gets paid based on the number of views on their content, as well as, the candidate will be able to have access to Electronic Library, do mock examinations which will be similar to the way they will write the CBT examination.

Here is possible “value add” criteria?

Usage of Ocean:
We are building an application that allows instructors to produce short video tutorials, we will fork the Ocean marketplace to allow an exchange of value. Being able to allow reusability of the recorded tutorials and with the advantage of privacy, security, and data ownership.

Viability:
This is a valid problem and area of concern as, we believe there is to be a new approach to education in West Africa, where lectures, pass questions and tutorials can be done asynchronously, with the emergency of the fast adoption of social activities like Instagram, Facebook, etc… adoption in the region, we believe it will be easier for the younger generation to as well, tap into this for personal progress and improvement. The chances of success we believe are high.

Community active-ness:
Though this is our second month in the Ocean space and ecosystem, we will drive in more as we will be needing massive support and feedback from the community.

Aligned with Ocean mission:
We are building a platform that allows the young generation with no access to have access to quality data through the electronic Library, as well as, help them pass their examinations easily, this we believe is in line with Ocean’s mission to provide the opportunity for people to access data.
